Jan 14, 2015 at 08:56PM While photographs and videos are important memories to keep for the future, there's also a vast number of important audio recordings on various formats to be saved.
ProCopy digitises and enhances audio from old formats such as 78 inch records including World War 2 message discs, Vinyl LPs, singles and acetates.
We can also transfer a variety of Reel to Reel tapes including 1/4inch, Half track, 1/4 Track, stereo or mono and audio cassettes.
We'll assess your recordings and advise on the best way to proceed with digitising your collection of audio recordings. We usually recommend digitising to the highest quality possible (CD Audio standard or the equivalent Wav file format) and then providing "down converted" audio as Mp3 or similar for your personal devices or sharing via email or storing in "the cloud". Files can also be transferred to USB flash drives so that you can play them in modern car media players.
Note: many companies and a lot of home based equipment produce direct conversions to Mp3 or other compressed audio formats and you will lose the quality of your original recordings. It takes longer to do the job properly but it does produce the best results.
We are happy to receive records and tapes via post to our PO Box but highly recommend that you send via a trackable service such as Express Post and make sure that the audio tapes, records or reels are securely packaged to prevent possible damage in transit.

Jan 14, 2015 at 06:34PM While DVDs are a convenient format for playing back and storing your family video memories we get more and more enquiries about transferring videos and films to Hard Drives and USB flash drives.
ProCopy can transfer just about any film or video format to hard drive or flash memory including 8 & 16mm film, Pathe film, and Super8, As well as most video camera tape formats and professional or broadcast formats.
Film reel transfers
We can give you the option of high quality uncompressed file formats such as AVI, or convenient formats such as MP4 which are Mac & PC compatible, .Mov files for Mac editing or smaller file formats such as WMV and Mpeg2.
Once you have the files in a digital format you can edit your own videos, store them "in the Cloud" or upload them to Youtube.
If you don't have the ability to edit or transfer them, ProCopy can also provide you with BluRay or DVD copies of your content edited to your requirements and to keep securely for the future.
We generally recommend having your video on at least 2 formats for safe keeping which is easy to do when digitised. Extra copies for the family of DVDs are very economical and we always verify every copy so that you can be sure that they are the same as the original transfer.
