What creates that warm valve (tube) sound in audio

Here's a simple explanation as to what creates that warm sound when valve or tube amplifiers or effects units are used in replaying or mastering your audio. http://bit.ly/fsJsy2

Like all processes there are some trade offs - increasing distortion is the obvious one, but of course the pleasing effect on your audio often outways the problem.

ProCopy can offer computer or analogue mastering services with both options - if you want that pleasing tube warmth in your next mastering project we can insert valve EQ and compression at the mastering stage.
