The final at the ‘Fly by Night Club’ in Fremantle, was a full house with no room to move, which suggests that the support is strong and fast becoming an event on the school calendar. The level of performance has defiantly risen and the diversity of genres was evident this year with a good selection of everything.

Having said this every year for the last 5yrs has been at a level that is extraordinary and a credit to the students & there teachers. I also believe that this event is the cause of the school bands increasing abilities each year!

Over the past 5 yrs teachers and students have benefited from the prizes/equipment provided by Roland & Fender and all of the sponsors on board with the MBG program that have been won by the student bands; providing equipment that many teachers would be unable to obtain due to budget constraints and a lack of knowledge in the equipment provided by the prize pool.

This event also provides opportunities for the winning bands to play at other events provided by the Gozzy Rock program, RTRfm events program & Rock Scholars!

In closing, keep your calendars free in 2011 so that you can take part in the next My Big Gig. More details can be obtain from Kim Musa at Kosmic Sound's Osborne Park Store on 9204 7577
